N class

After starting electric service with saloon cars and combination cars, Sydney moved quickly to the all crossbench design with the E-class and this two-bogie design. Like the E-class, each pair of benches had doors at each side.

Preserved N-class trams

• No. 728, at the Sydney Tramway Museum
• Nos 619 and 685 have been acquired by the Steam Tram and Railway Preservation Society, currently at the Rail Transport Museum at Thirlmere. These will be restored to be used as steam trailers to replace the two B class trailers that were burnt in the fire of 1993.
