v set at regents park

seen a v set on the y between regents park and sefton at around 11:20 this
morning. Is this usual, or was it lost?
also unusual was trackwork at seven hills on the main western line. I
thought they did this at night? must have been urgent because they had
closed off the line. looked like they were about to weld the rails together.
