This whole thread reminds me of the opening scene of the movie Dimboola
(starring Bruce Spence et al) in which an upper class englishman gets off a
train (T class loco hauled) at Dimboola station - looks at the station sign
and awkwardly says "DIM-BYOO-LAH", to which the porter(!) replies in a
broad accent "Its DEM-BERLA mate".
