There was an MP in the Australian federal parliament when I was a kid 
called St John. He pronounced it Sin-j'n. He was involved in some scandal 
or another.
Australians seem to call Fremantle Free-mantle. Here in NZ, the 
newsreaders call it Fr'mantle.
