In the Sydney Morning Herald on Monday
30 November and Wednesday 2 December
Rail Services Australia was calling for
tenders to supply road freight for
ballast from Bombo, Ardglen and Martin's
Creek for a period of 2 years. Why by road
when each of these quarries has a rail
connection?
That will be a lot of trucks on the road.
Say, two per rail wagon, most ballast
trains being 20 wagons long.
