NSW / QLD steam

Hi all,
I'm planning a trip to Queensland from Melbourne for two weeks in
December, and hope to see some steam in NSW/QLD if possible. I've
been told to visit Thirlmere and Dorrigo, anybody have info on
what may be happening at either of those sites in the first two
weeks of December?

If 3801 or 3830 are running trips in that time as well I'd like to
try and see them. I don't have Web access at present so any info
on what trips are running there would be welcome.

Is there any steam that runs in the coal area around Maitland? I
think I remember a preserved line being in operation there?

Where is the QR Garratt stabled? Does anybody know of its
movements if any in early December?

Any info or contact numbers on any of the above would be most
appreciated.
