Some 11kV switchgear here at Redfern caught fire and caused the 11kV
feeder to Sydenham to go down. That is why the signals failed. The
electricians isolated the equipment and got the system up and running
again with the inevitable delays. If the government supplied technical
sections with a larger budget, these problems would not occur, because
the equipment could be maintained and overhauled.
