Sir,
I am seeking information about the history of the
original rail systems that commenced in Australian states and their various
"RAIL GAUGES" and the reasons why they were so different from state to state at
the time.
What a wonderful advantage it would have been to
have had a COMMON NATIONAL RAIL GUAGE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE STEAM RAIL
ERA!
