Re: Redfern derailment - rails rusted through???



The points, all their lives, were trailing but now they are facing and
trailing. I don't know how long they have been there but it wouldn't
supprise me if they were there in the steam days as the ED is not used
that much.
Anyway,
The blade of the points did not fully close and SHASAM!

SO whether the sleepers were made of wood, steel, concrete, butter or
people just holding hands, the result wood (pun intended) of been the
same.
